Statement of Faith
The biblical convictions that guide our ministry, our care for people, and our commitment to marriages.
Our Biblical Foundation
Rel8able, Inc. is a Christ-centered ministry. Our beliefs and our approach to marriage crisis intervention, reconciliation, inner healing, and spiritual renewal are grounded in the Word of God. The King James Version (KJV) is our primary translation for Scripture quotations and references.
The following convictions summarize the foundational Christian doctrines we affirm.
Our Biblical Convictions About Marriage
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God, intended to reflect faithful, self-giving love and to be honored with truth, humility, and devotion. Because marriage matters to God, we believe couples in crisis deserve compassionate care, biblical guidance, and a genuine opportunity to pursue healing and restoration.
Marriage Is a Covenant to Be Honored
We believe marriage is not merely a contract of convenience, but a covenant entered into before God. Scripture calls husbands and wives to faithfulness, mutual honor, sacrificial love, and a commitment that does not treat one another as disposable (Genesis 2:24; Malachi 2:14; Ephesians 5:21–33).
Love Must Be Expressed Through Christlike Character
We believe the love that sustains a marriage is shaped by the character of Jesus Christ. It is patient and kind, rejects pride and selfishness, speaks truth, and seeks the good of the other (1 Corinthians 13:4–7; Philippians 2:3–5). Biblical love does not excuse sin or require someone to pretend that harm has not occurred.
Truth, Repentance, and Accountability Matter
We believe lasting healing requires honesty before God and one another. Where there has been sin, each person must be willing to take responsibility, turn from wrongdoing, and pursue changed conduct—not merely offer words. Confession, repentance, and bearing fruit consistent with repentance are important parts of a path toward restoration (Psalm 51:6; Proverbs 28:13; Matthew 3:8; 1 John 1:9).
Forgiveness and Reconciliation Are Related, but Not Identical
We believe Christians are called to forgive as they have been forgiven in Christ (Ephesians 4:31–32; Colossians 3:13). We also recognize that rebuilding trust and restoring a relationship takes truth, repentance, time, and consistent faithfulness. Forgiveness should not be used to silence someone, conceal wrongdoing, or bypass accountability.
Safety, Dignity, and Wise Counsel Are Essential
We believe every person bears God-given dignity and must be treated with care. Reconciliation efforts must never pressure someone to remain in immediate danger or to tolerate abuse, coercion, threats, or violence. When safety is at risk, protection, appropriate professional support, and accountability must come first. Pursuing peace does not mean ignoring danger (Psalm 82:3–4; Proverbs 22:3; Romans 12:18).
Restoration Is Possible, and It Is a Process
We believe God is able to bring conviction, healing, renewed hearts, and hope where marriages have been deeply wounded. We do not promise a particular outcome or suggest that one spouse can control the choices of the other. We seek to walk with people in humility, prayer, wise counsel, and obedience to Scripture, trusting God with the process (Joel 2:25; 2 Corinthians 5:17–18; Galatians 6:1–2).
Rel8able exists to help couples face what is broken with courage, seek the Lord with sincerity, and pursue the kind of repentance, healing, and Christ-centered love that can make restoration possible. We will seek to do so without minimizing harm, promising outcomes, or compromising biblical truth.
What We Believe
The One True God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, equal in divine power and glory. The triune God created all things, sustains all things, and sovereignly rules over all things.
The Scriptures
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible and authoritative rule for faith and practice.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father: an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He mercifully concerns Himself with human affairs, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ, the Son
We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, miracles, and teaching; His substitutionary and atoning death; His bodily resurrection; His ascension into heaven; His continuing intercession for His people; and His personal, visible return to earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son and convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers those who believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer and remains their Helper, Teacher, and Guide.
Sin, Repentance, and Salvation
We believe all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are therefore under condemnation. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God brings to new life those who truly repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.
The Baptism and Empowering of the Holy Spirit
We believe Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and empowers that believer for works of service.
The Church
We believe in the universal Church, the living spiritual body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Head of this body, which is made up of all who have been born again and regenerated.
The Ordinances
We believe Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church:
- Water baptism by immersion; and
- The Lord’s Supper (Communion).
Both ordinances are open to all believers in Jesus Christ.
The Apostles’ Creed
We affirm the Apostles’ Creed as a historic summary of the central doctrines of orthodox Christianity:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into the grave.
The third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
In this creed, “catholic” means universal—the worldwide body of believers in Jesus Christ—and does not refer to the Roman Catholic Church.
“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”
These beliefs shape the way we serve individuals and couples in seasons of crisis. We seek to offer care with compassion, uphold the truth of Scripture, and point people toward the hope and transforming grace found in Jesus Christ.
